Field of study: Electrical Engineering
Description: This research line develops studies in modeling and implementation of devices as well as systems related to Communications in the electrical and optical domain. The works focus on: 1) Optical devices (eg fiber lasers, amplifiers, microwave photonics); 2) Communications systems, such as modulation formats, multiple access techniques, radio over fiber, power line communications); 3) Networks (more specifically, optical networks - access and transport, wireless networks, datacenter networks); 4) Sensing (eg internet of things, optical and optoelectronic sensors, biomedical applications, nanotechnology); 5) Theory of Applied Graphs (such as: design and analysis of topologies, invariant and centrality measures, allocation problems, routing and location, applications in smart grids)
